Our Food Basket Program is one of the first projects that RRF established. This program is an essential monthly assistance that is delivered to families and various individuals who are not able to afford or have any other means of receiving sustainable food. Those living in war-torn and/or poor countries realize that the costs of even basic foods increase as they become a rare commodity. Because of this inevitable reality, many foods that were low in cost and readily available become high in value and rare to find.
Our RRF team members on the ground try their best to accommodate each basket to the size and make up of every family that our aid reaches. However, many of our food baskets that are distributed are uniform in containing: grains, dry milk, beans, oil, olives, cheese, lentils, etc… Each basket is ideally supposed to last an entire month. With the continued support of our generous donors, our food baskets will continue to be delivered to those families who cannot sustain themselves.
The Following Graph Shows our Progress in 2015 and 2016
Our Infant Formula Program is a tremendous success for our RRF team members. We work alongside with the city of Daraa and have a massive warehouse that holds only infant formula containers. Because of this location we are able to continuously stock and redistribute to many other neighboring cities. In March 2016 there was a major siege in cities in Syria and we were the first responders and one of the few who were able to distribute their humanitarian aid.
This is another crucial program because families who have a young baby or child are most of the time unable to provide enough nutritional nourishment for their children. Without the proper nourishment, the children of our future will not be able to grow into healthy individuals.
